In 2009, the 1st Annual Leprechaun Polar Leap was conducted in North Wildwood, NJ. The plunge itself was conducted at the 5th Street Beach, and the post celebration and "warming" ceremonies were conducted at Keenan's Irish Pub. The proceeds from the event went to help support the Philadelphia Fallen Hero's Survival Fund, which provides for families of Police Officers lost in the line of duty. Additional proceeds were used to support scholarship funds in the memory of Ricky Lannetti and Britteny Shilling, two young people who have all left us too soon. The event is completely not for profit and staffed by volunteers. |
